Unlike with most piano lessons, here you won't just learn how to wiggle your fingers to make pretty sounds—from lesson 1, you'll actually be learning the WHY behind every term, technique, and tone you come across as your skill progresses. Joshua Watts' music composition degree provides him with the tools needed to give you a deeper understanding of music itself. If you've ever wondered why the piano is laid out the way it is, or why some chords sound nicer than others, then these are the lessons for you!
Virtual Lessons
$30/hr
For those who can't handle my in-person presence, you can experience lessons over 'Google Meet' aided by dynamically immersive visuals via the Dorico Professional score-writing program! Cameras stream both my face and my keyboard for maximal clarity in long-distance lessons at a discounted rate!

What?
In our lessons, you'll learn to both read music and play by ear. We'll cover theory, technique, and whatever music YOU want to learn!
When?
Most lessons are 1 hour a week, but I am happy to create a lighter or more intense schedule to best fit your goals!
Where?
I give lessons virtually, or if you are in the Lexington, KY area, in-person at your home or mine!
How much?
$30 for virtual lessons or $40 for in-person. (Plus, a travel fee of 50¢ per minute of travel.)
