Piano Tuning & Repair
Do you have a piano that doesn't sound or work right? Let me at it! As a certified piano technician, I would love to make your piano the best it can be at a competitive price!
How much will it cost?
A standard tuning costs $120 + 50¢/mile driven. (Feel free to get a quote before committing to a tuning!)
How long will it take?
For a typical piano, a full tuning takes about 3 hours. If repairs are needed, however, the process will naturally take a bit longer.
When should I get a tuning?
On average, pianos should be tuned at least twice a year. If it is rarely played, however, you can get away with once a year. Years without tuning, however, will leave your piano disinclined to hold its next tuning.
What if I need more than a tuning?
As a piano technician, I can repair or replace all sorts of piano parts— keys, hammers, strings, etc. I charge $60/hr (plus the cost of new parts) for repairs.
Do I need to be quiet?
As a general rule, the more noise, the slower the process, so yes, quieter is better. It's also worth noting that there will be an irritating amount of plunking on the piano during the process, so plan accordingly.
What if it's super out of tune?
Pianos that have fallen extremely out of tune typically need multiple tunings before they can hold their tune again. (So don't let them sit for years!)
