Piano Tuning & Repair

How much will it cost?
A standard tuning in the Lexington, KY area will cost $100. If you are outside the Lexington area, an additional charge of 50¢/mile will be added. (Feel free to get a quote before committing to a tuning!)
How long will it take?
A full tuning will take me roughly 4 hours. If repairs are needed, however, the process will naturally take a bit longer. I would recommend allotting about 5 hours to a standard tuning.
When should I get a tuning?
On average, pianos should be tuned about twice a year. If it is rarely played, however, you can get away with once a year. Years without tuning, however, will leave your piano disinclined to hold its next tuning.
What if I need more than a tuning?
As a piano technician, I can repair or replace all sorts of piano parts— keys, hammers, strings, etc. I charge $30/hr (plus the cost of new parts) for repairs.
Do I need to be quiet?
As a general rule, the more noise, the slower the process, so yes, quieter is better. It's also worth noting that there will be an irritating amount of plunking on the piano during the process, so plan accordingly.
Are there any discounts?
For the opening months of my business, all services are currently discounted! Repeat tunings are 10% off.
