Piano Tuning & Repair

Would your piano be a little too at home in a saloon? Let me at it! As a certified piano technician, I would love to tune and tinker until your piano sounds top-notch!

How much will it cost?

A standard tuning costs $120 + a travel fee of 75¢/minute. (I'll give you a quote and repair estimate before we schedule the tuning.)

How long will it take?

For a typical piano, a full tuning takes about 3 hours. If repairs are needed, however, the process will naturally take a bit longer.

When should I get a tuning?

On average, pianos should be tuned between 2 and 4 times a year. If it is rarely played, however, you can get away with once annually. Multiple years without tuning, however, will leave your piano disinclined to hold its next tuning.

What if I need more than a tuning?

I like to offer minor repairs and regulation at $30/hr (plus the cost of new parts). I can also evaluate your piano's needs and provide an estimate before you commit!

Do I need to be quiet?

As a general rule, the more noise, the slower the process, so yes, quieter is better. It's also worth noting that there will be an irritating amount of plunking on the piano during the process, so plan accordingly.

What if it's VERY out of tune?

Pianos that have fallen extremely out of tune typically need multiple tunings before they can hold their tune again. (So don't let them sit for years!)
